Presentation at the ACM GROUP Conference: “Playing with Privacy”
At the beginning of the year, Jenny Berkholz had the opportunity to present the research paper “Playing with Privacy: Exploring the Social Construction of Privacy Norms Through a Card Game” at the renowned ACM GROUP Conference as part of the third-party funded project BeDeNUTZ. This international conference, which focuses on the interdisciplinary study of group work, technology, and society, took place on Hilton Head Island, USA.
The research explores how social norms related to privacy and informational self-determination can be experienced and reflected upon through playful interaction. Using a specially developed card game, valuable insights were gained into the dynamic negotiation of privacy norms. The discussions with other researchers at the conference provided valuable new perspectives and important impulses for further developing this work. A sincere thank you to everyone who commented on and discussed this research.
